Who does this job?

Lee Brennan, Osmington Bay

I chose to come to work for PGL as part of my gap year, and still haven’t left. I have worked at Dalguise, Caythrope and Little Canada, as well as visiting some other centres for training courses. I have always been an AIGL, but as a centre team we also help all other departments.

As a Paddlesports Instructor I get quite a varied rota. My day is usually a mix of watersports based at the National Sailing Academy and rope sessions based on centre. I also have the opportunity to coach other staff and aid in their development. The progress people make is very rewarding as a trainer. There’s never a dull moment on centre, as all staff live and work together. There always seems to be something to do .Food is provided and there’s no washing up!

In future I would like to take my experiences from PGL and apply them in the classroom as a teacher. PGL is a great spring board for developing yourself with your confidence, leadership and other transferrable skills. You also get the opportunity to enjoy a fresh challenge every day, potentially changing kid’s lives.
