It is important that everyone travelling with PGL has holiday insurance. Experience has shown that standard policies do not cover all our activities, e.g. motorsports, abseiling and rifle shooting. For your protection, therefore, we have arranged a special policy with Union Reiseversicherung AG. PGL insurance includes the following benefits as long as claims fall within the terms and conditions of the policy:
- Cover for all activities organised by PGL
- Personal accident up to £25,000
- Some benefits are reduced for under 16s
- Medical and other expenses up to £5 million for overseas holidays and up to £10,000 (other expenses only) for the UK
- Cancellation charges up to the cost of the holiday up to £5,000 (£1,000 UK trips)
- Luggage up to £1,500. Single item £250. Valuables limit £250
- Personal money up to £500
- Personal liability up to £1 million
- Unused activities at £20 per day in summer or a pro rata refund of the ski pack (lessons, lift pass and ski school) in winter (both up to a maximum of £240)
- Delay compensation, up to the invoice total for abandonment of overseas holidays. Compensation after 12 hours delay is £20
Full details of our insurance cover can be sent to you upon request. Please note that cancellation cover comes into force when you pay the appropriate premiums. One premium will cover two or more consecutive holiday weeks per child. Non consecutive weeks require separate premiums. Most of the above sections are subject to £35 excess UK (£50 overseas) (up to £250 excess for legal expenses). Clients not purchasing our insurance will be asked to complete an Insurance Indemnity Form issued on the advice of ABTA.

We would like to explain some of the definitions and features of our insurance cover for you.
Cooling off period
Your policy contains a 14 day cooling off period, during which you can cancel the policy and get a refund, if you have a justifiable reason for being dissatisfied with the cover it provides.
Conditions, Exclusions and Terms
Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and warranties will apply to the whole policy.
These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a “new for old” or replacement cost basis.
Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you, which we advise against.
Under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is called the excess.
You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as if you were uninsured, otherwise your claim may be refused.
The insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
Dangerous Sports or Pastimes
If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a risk of injury, check that your policy covers you. All activities officially organised and implemented by PGL are covered.
This gives full details of what is not covered and conditions of the cover. A copy will be sent to you on booking, or earlier on request.
The Insurance Policy will be subject to the law of England and Wales unless otherwise agreed.
Please ensure you read your insurance policy carefully. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the policy may result in cover being restricted.
