English Language Programme
for international students
aged 8-17
Language, culture and adventure for juniors
Our unique programme for juniors, offering a mix of English Language classes, excursions and adventure activities, brings learning to life.
We are accredited by the British Council for the Teaching of English in the UK, and all our residential centres are managed by trained and experienced PGL staff.
How does it work?
English Classes: Students receive 15 hours of teaching each week in enjoyable, interactive classes with no more than 15 students per class. All teachers are qualified.
Courses are taught at four levels, (Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate) with students assessed on arrival and streamed into classes according to ability. Each student receives a specially designed workbook containing modules and exercises based on their course. A certificate of achievement is presented to each student at the end of the course.
Cultural Excursions: A full-day and half-day each week are allocated for excursions to world-famous landmarks and historical sites. These visits allow students to improve their fluency and confidence in English, while seeing the sites, or even doing some shopping. PGL centre staff lead each excursion and provide support, information and the benefit of their local knowledge.
Adventure Activities: Every PGL centre has an exciting range of on-site adventure activities such as climbing and abseiling, zip wire, giant swing, raft-building and canoeing - all supervised by experienced English speaking activity instructors. Your students can develop their conversational English while enjoying fun, outdoor activities.
Evening Entertainment: Every evening our teams provide an entertainment programme filled with games, quizzes and other activities to keep the group occupied. There is also the potential for students to mix with English-speaking children and further develop their English skills.
When?
Closed programme: groups remain closed and do not integrate, although there may be English-speaking children on-site. Programme is fixed and available all year round. Minimum group size: 15
Mixed nationality programme: students are integrated with other nationalities at every opportunity. Programme is fixed and available during the UK summer. Multiples of 7 night stays. No minimum numbers.
Activities
We can arrange an exciting programme of outdoor activity sessions to develop your students personally and socially, all supervised by trained PGL staff. Activities available can vary between PGL centres.
