As Summer approaches, it’s time to start thinking about some fun-filled day trips. Sometimes it can be hard to think of an activity you have not already done before with your children, and that’s where we come in.
We know that children love to try new things, which is why below we have given you a few ideas for family adventure trips with unique activities to keep your ten-year-old busy over the Summer holidays:
Canoeing
Canoeing is a fantastically fun day trip out for a ten year old. Set sail on an adventure with your ten-year-old as you ride the waves and explore your local lake or river. Canoeing is an excellent activity for the whole family, no matter how many of you there are or what age.
You and your children can also test your paddling skills at some of our centres here at PGL; whether it’s your first time being captain of the boat, or you’re experienced on the water, we can provide you with as much guidance as you need!
Fencing
En Garde! This exhilarating activity is bound to keep your ten-year-old busy over the Summer holidays, with plenty of places to take part in summer lessons. Relish watching your child learn new skills and progress in a new sport; you never know, you could have a future Olympian on your hands.
Fencing is an activity that interests lots of children, which is why we have this available at centres across the country for all children to try. It’s also a fantastic activity for kids to develop a sense of discipline, friendly competition and sportsmanship. When planning a day trip out for your ten year old, why not try something a little different?
Orienteering
Learn the basics of map reading and use them to explore your surroundings! Challenge your child by asking if it’s quicker to trek up the hill or take the long and winding route.
Once your child is equipped with these exploration skills, why not test them further at one of our centres? Race around the grounds, compete with others and see who will find all of the control points the quickest.
Adventure Trail
Messy play is always a popular pastime, so let them get mucky and muddy on an epic adventure trail. These are a perfect way for your little ones to burn some energy and have fun with others as they slide through subterranean tunnels, climb over obstacles and crawl under the nets to get to the other side.
If they enjoy this unique underground activity, there’s even more for them to discover at our centres with the tunnel trial, where they can explore our tunnel maze and solve unique challenges.
Archery Tag
Tag - you’re it! This truly unique combination of archery and the classic playground game, tag, is a bundle of fun. Children must channel their inner Robin Hood as they aim and fire their arrows, watching them glide through the air and hit their target.
Who will have the best aim? Archery Tag is a thrilling activity enjoyed at our centres; with inflatable obstacles covering those hiding, your child must dip and dive if they don’t want to be tagged!
Buggy Building
This is one to get your parents involved in the fun! Can your family build a successful buggy? Using whatever materials are available, you must create a buggy that will move across land. Teamwork is needed in abundance to make sure your cart lasts the longest on the field.
