School trips and outdoor learning activities provide the perfect opportunity for students to enjoy the fresh air, learn transferable skills and have fun with their friends!

They make for fantastic outdoor learning opportunities, whether that’s developing certain skills or building on prior topic knowledge on a field trip. An adventurous school trip with PGL can really bring out positive character traits in your students, along with many other benefits. So, let's delve into some of the possibilities!

Try something new!

With the opportunity to try new activities and take on challenges, your students may discover passions and interests that they might not have otherwise. From skillful activities such as Archery to physically challenging ones like Climbing, your students may find a new hobby for life!

On a school trip with PGL, there is a wealth of activities for your students to discover. From playing classic sports games with your friends in free-time and evening activities, to more unusual challenges such as Raft Building and Sensory Trail, we want students to attempt activities they have never done before.

Encourage students to get involved with anything

After an outdoor adventure school trip, your students will be willing to dive into almost any activity put in front of them. By taking on our adventurous activities, students will boost their confidence and be ready to take on anything!

Develop problem solving and critical thinking skills

You’re students might not know it, but while they’re having fun building rafts and negotiating their way through the high ropes, they’re also building on their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This is no accident, at PGL all of our activities are designed to build on lots of different skills!

Create new friendships

Activity school trips can create stronger bonds and new friendships between students, especially those who share the same interests. As students collaborate and compete throughout various activities, they further develop their relationships.

Activities such as Orienteering, Archery Tag, Jacob’s Ladder and many more available at PGL, promote collaboration and teamwork, encouraging ideas from all students. As students communicate more with each other during these games, tasks and challenges, it can help create many new friendships and build relationships with each other; just another added benefit for collaborative learning back in the classroom!

Hands-on learning

The combination of both classroom and outdoor learning through activities and school trips is the perfect balance for a fun and energetic educational experience.

It brings their textbooks to life! With so many opportunities to teach your students in new ways, activity school trips are a fantastic way to try a hands-on approach. Your students will love it!

Our school trips and outdoor learning activities

Primary or secondary? We’ve got you covered. Here’s a sneak peak of some of our amazing outdoor learning activities:

Vertical Challenge

Designed to test their physical abilities, students must make their way up the obstacle wall and use their problem-solving skills to work out how they can beat it! Get to the top and you’re a winner.

Dragon Boating

We bet your students haven’t heard of this one before. Teamwork is essential here! Large teams must race across the water in a long boat while all paddling at the same time. If they can stay in rhythm, they’ve got a good chance of winning.

Raft Building

Raft Building is one of the favourites here at PGL. Your students will work together to create a raft using only the materials provided. Whose will stay afloat? Whose will sink? This activity fosters teamwork and plenty of critical thinking skills.
