What is bushcraft?
One definition of bushcraft describes it as the use and practice of skills used to survive and thrive in a natural environment.

Children will develop their independence on bushcraft camps as they complete a range of bushcraft activities independently and with others. Trusting them with the materials and tools used in these kinds of activities can help children feel more independent and confident in doing things for themselves.

Although your child may never need to use these skills in a real-life survival situation, it’s always beneficial to know, and they can come in handy in other environments. When a group works towards a common goal, it boosts all of their teamwork and collaboration skills. At bushcraft camps, your child will build shelters with others and could even become responsible for certain tasks as activities are shared between groups.
